Pre-Existing Condition Definition |
A Pre-Existing Condition is defined as any injury or illness or condition which was contracted or which first manifested itself, or for which a licensed physician was consulted, or for which treatment or medication was prescribed, within 6 months prior to the effective date of the Covered Person's coverage under this Program. Pre-existing Conditions shall be excluded from coverage for a period of 6 months following the effective date of coverage under this program, unless stipulated by State or Federal Regulation. A Covered Person must be continuously insured.

- Comprehensive coverage plan with benefits per incident.
- This plan covers international students studying in US and US students studying outside the US.
- Meets JVisa requirements.
- Option for family coverage.
- This plan meets most of the requirements set by Department of State, Immigration and naturalization services, NAFSA and university study abroad programs.
- Initially can be purchased for one year and can be renewed later.
- Policy has to be renewed within 30 days following the end of their current coverage period to avoid a lapse in coverage.
- This plan covers for repatriation of remains, medical evacuation, AD&D, mental or nervous disorders and alcohol & substance abuse benefits, concierge services, dental treatment, therapeutic termination of pregnancy and ID theft service.
- Copay for prescription drugs-After you pay the deductible, $10 for generic and $20 for brand names.
- For medical expenses up to $25,000, coinsurance within the network or outside the US, plan pays 80% and then pays up to 100% of covered expenses. Coinsurance out of the PPO network, plan pays 70% of the eligible medical expenses.
- Waiver of deductible if medical service is first received from the student health center.
- Round the clock emergency assistance for medical services, arranging communication between insured, insured family, doctors, legal emergencies etc.

- The benefit for US students studying abroad is only $5000 for mental or nervous disorders and alcohol & substance abuse benefits
