Atlas International Insurance Disadvantages
- The plan is not available to individuals who are physically located in the state of New York at time of purchase.
- Pre-certification is required to receive full benefits. Failure to pre-certify with the assistance company will reduce the benefits to 50%.
- Only $10k coverage for 80 plus age old traveler.
- The previous benefit of free coverage for dependent children under 9 years when parents are coverage has been discontinued.
- A penalty of 50% of eligible medical expenses for failure to pre-certify the medical expenses.

Renewability

- $25,000 maximum limit for emergency medical evacuation.
Cancellation
- Before effective date: Full refund of premium is available.
- After effective date: Only premium for unused whole-months, if paying in monthly installments, or unused days, if paid
in full, of the premium will be refunded; and
You cannot have filed any claims to be eligible for a premium refund.
Coinsurance
For coverage inside USA Atlas International insurance pays:
- Plan pay 100% of eligible expenses after the deductible up to the overall maximum limit.
Restrictions
The Atlas Series is not available to individuals who are physically located in the states of New York, Maryland, or Washington; or in the countries of Canada or Australia at time of purchase.

The Atlas International Insurance plan covers set amount up to a maximum of $50k. The insured must pay the deductible ($100). After that, the insurance company pays fixed amount as defined in the policy for specific treatment. In hypothetical case, the insured has to pay the difference between the amount insurance pays and the actual billed amount.

Atlas Travel policyholders who are U.S. citizens or non-U.S. citizens traveling outside of the U.S. will be covered under Atlas International, which provides coverage outside of the United States.
Atlas Travel policyholders who are non-U.S. citizens (and home country is not the United States) traveling to the United States will be covered under Atlas America. (For the purpose of this American visitor insurance coverage, the United States also includes Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.)
The correct plan will be automatically selected for you when you purchase your Atlas Travel plan, depending on whether your trip includes coverage for the U.S. (You will only be covered for the U.S. if you are a non-U.S. citizen, your home country is not the United States, and all or part of your travel includes the U.S.)
Yes, you can buy Atlas International insurance as it satisfies the Schengen visa requirements as mandated by the European consulates and also offers the Schengen visa letter as required by the Schengen state consulates.
