INF Elite X Travel Insurance

  • INF Elite X is ideal for visitors to the USA, Canada, or Mexico who need comprehensive coverage with 80% coinsurance, full pre-existing condition protection up to age 99, and access to the UnitedHealthcare PPO network.
  • It's perfect for seniors and travelers seeking broad inpatient and outpatient benefits with flexible, high-limit coverage for longer stays.
What is great about this plan?

This is one of the few plans that will cover any medical issue even if it is due to a pre-existing medical condition. When you purchase it, you choose a maximum and deductible for the general policy AND a separate maximum and deductible to be applied to any pre-existing condition. Also, if the pre-existing condition is very stable (no change in medication for past two years and no flare ups), then the insured will be covered under the general terms of the policy (with the high maximum and deductible chosen).

Downsides to this plan

It is very costly. It is an 80/20 plan; meaning that after the deductible, the insured pays 20% and the insurance company covers 80% without a cap. There may not be a lot of deductible/maximum options for pre-existing condition coverage especially for older individuals (options depend on age).

Full pre-existing conditions coverage

Unlike most travel insurance plans that only cover acute onset, INF Elite offers full coverage for pre-existing medical conditions up to 99 years. This makes it ideal for travelers with chronic health concerns who need reliable protection while visiting the U.S.

Best comprehensive coverage for seniors (Up to Age 99)

INF Elite is one of the most comprehensive plans available, especially for elderly travelers and visiting parents. It covers individuals up to 99 years old with no age-based restrictions or complicated medical screening.

Access to UnitedHealthcare PPO Network

The plan gives you access to the UnitedHealthcare PPO network, one of the largest provider networks in the U.S. You get quality care at top hospitals and clinics along with significant savings through discounted, in-network rates-reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Flexible long-term coverage

Choose coverage from 90 days up to 364 days, ideal for extended stays. You have the flexibility to match the policy duration with your travel schedule.

Emergency medical support

Covers emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of remains, ambulance services, and accidental death & dismemberment, giving families peace of mind.

Coinsurance

After the deductible, INF Elite covers 80% of eligible medical expenses in-network and 60% out-of-network, helping to lower your overall costs while ensuring access to quality care.

Coverage for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

INF Elite includes coverage for common conditions such as urinary tract infections, providing up to $2,000 in benefits and additional peace of mind for travelers prone to such ailments.

Urgent Care Benefits

Includes access to urgent care services with a $25 copay in-network and $50 copay out-of-network, ensuring timely treatment for non-emergency conditions during your visit.

No medical check-up required

INF Elite insurance does not require any medical exam for purchase, making it easy to buy online for parents from India or other countries.

help FAQS

INF Elite X vs Premier X - Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. You can include your spouse and eligible dependent children on the same application for INF Elite X or INF Premier X by selecting the appropriate number of dependents when requesting a quote. Each family member receives their own policy, with separate coverage limits, deductible, and premium based on their age. Since these plans are issued per person, there is no family plan or family discount — the total premium is the sum of each individual's premium.
IVAS stands for International Visitor Accident and Sickness. It is the name of the INF Premier X Summary of Benefits, which explains what the plan covers and how much it pays for eligible medical expenses, such as hospital stays, doctor visits, ambulance services, surgery, and other covered treatments. IVAS is not a separate insurance plan — it is simply the benefit schedule included with the INF Premier X policy.
Yes. You may cancel your INF Elite X or INF Premier X plan before the policy's effective date. However, once the policy becomes effective, it cannot be cancelled, and no refund or credit will be issued for any unused portion of the policy. Be sure to review your travel dates carefully before your coverage begins.
INF insurance offers comprehensive travel medical coverage for international visitors, including coverage for pre-existing medical conditions up to age 99 (available with eligible plans such as INF Elite X and INF Premier X, subject to the policy terms and conditions). Other key benefits include no medical exam required, access to the UnitedHealthcare PPO network, flexible coverage periods from 90 to 364 days, high policy maximums, and coverage for eligible accident and sickness-related medical expenses. These features make INF insurance a popular choice for parents, seniors, and other visitors traveling to the United States, Canada and Mexico.
INF travel insurance should be purchased before you arrive in the United States or your destination country. Your coverage begins on the effective date you select during the application process, which is typically your departure date or another date of your choice. Some INF plans may also have a waiting period before certain benefits become available, so it's best to purchase your policy before your trip begins.
Some INF travel insurance plans have a waiting period, while others do not. For example, INF Elite X has a 5-day waiting period for sickness coverage. This means that any illness, whether known or unknown, that requires immediate medical attention within the first 5 days of the policy's effective date is not covered. Accident-related injuries are not subject to this waiting period. Always review your policy documents for the specific waiting period and coverage details that apply to your plan.
If your travel plans change, you can change the coverage start date for your INF Elite X or INF Premier X plan only before the policy becomes effective. Once your policy becomes active, the effective date cannot be changed. If you purchased your plan through American Visitor Insurance, contact our customer support team before your coverage begins, and we'll help you update your policy if the change is permitted by the insurer.
If your trip ends earlier than planned, you may be eligible to file a Trip Interruption claim under your INF Elite X policy, subject to the policy terms and conditions. Trip Interruption benefits reimburse eligible non-refundable travel expenses or additional costs incurred due to an unexpected early return — they do not refund your insurance premium. Review your policy documents to understand the covered reasons, limits, and eligibility requirements.
Elite X offers comprehensive, percentage-based coverage with flexible benefits, while Premier X is a fixed-benefit plan providing predictable, set payouts per service.

INF Visitor Insurance Plans Covering Pre-Existing Medical Conditions For Travel To The USA?

Hi,

I am traveling to the USA and have pre-existing medical conditions. What INF visitor insurance plans are available that cover medical emergencies related to pre-existing conditions?

Thank you,
Koen

support_agent

Dear Koen,

Thank you for contacting about your insurance needs! Remember that visitor plans are only for unexpected medical problems while a person is traveling outside their home country. They do not cover regular, required treatment or medications. The plans in this email will cover emergencies whether they are due to a pre-existing condition or not. If a condition is very stable (past 24 months there have been no change in medications or flare ups), then the coverage is the normal maximum and deductible you chose. If there has been some change or flare up recently, then the coverage is limited to the "pre-existing" maximum and a higher deductible (you can choose it for some policies).

The first plan is a fixed plan offered by INF. If you are charged more than what they pay, then you must pay the difference. However, the plan is available for persons ages 90+ up to a maximum of $100,000 with a deductible of $250 or $500. It includes $20,000 for emergency medical evacuation and uses the Firth Health Network. However, the plan is good at any doctor or hospital. The plan also covers COVID-19 as any other illness (unless you are already sick). The plan offers coverage in the US, Canada, and Mexico. This plan must be purchased for at least 90 days the first time it is purchased and then can be renewed for whole months after that.

This plan will cost $1,560 for 90 days of coverage with a $100,000 maximum and a $250 deductible.

For all information about the plan, go here:

INF Premier X:

The one more option below is comprehensive plan which offer better, more complete coverage.

INF Elite offered by INF is another good option to have coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. This plan is an 80/20 plan (they cover 80% after the deductible). The pre-existing conditions are subject to a higher deductible and lower maximum. There is also an INF Elite 90 plan which is a 90/10 plan available that is more expensive.

This plan will cost $4,194 for 90 days with a $75,000 maximum and a $250 deductible.
