Travel Medical insurance plans

Travel Medical Insurance should be a high-priority for people traveling internationally given the high cost of healthcare. Given the pandemic, the geopolitical tensions, the wars in Europe, disruptions due to dramatic weather changes, international travel does involve risks and adverse events like accidents and illness can happen quickly and suddenly.

Sudden illness and unexpected accidents cannot be ignored and precautions should be taken ahead of time to avoid anything major which can be very difficult to handle afterward.

There are many travel medical insurance plans available in the market today. We need to look closer to see what we want and get the best suitable one for us. Travel Insurance plans differ in their benefits, eligibility criteria, and travel destination.

If you are considering traveling outside of your home country and if your destination does not include the US, then here is a great plan that Seven Corners have introduced with a new brand name Travel Medical Choice. The key benefits of this plan are as given below:

  • This plan is available to both US citizens and Non-US citizens traveling outside their home country. For Non-US citizens, their destination or layover should not include the US
  • Wide range of policy maximum options available with this plan starting from $50,000, $100,000, $500,000,$1,000,000, $2,000,000 and $5,000,000 for people below the age of 65. For people from 64 to 79 the policy maximum options available are $50,000 and $100,000. Only policy maximum of $10,000 for people above 80.
  • This plan provides coverage worldwide excluding the US and has a maximum policy lifetime of 364 days and is a renewable plan.
  • The plan covers acute onset of pre-existing conditions for up to $50,000 up to age 64 and covers up to $10,000 from 65 to 79.
  • Dental treatment is covered for sudden relief of pain and accident
  • Pre Certification requirements need to be satisfied in the US. If you do not meet the Pre Certification requirements, there will be penalty and reduction in the c overage.

In case you need to cancel the plan, Seven Corners will refund the premium after they receive a written request from you prior to the coverage start date. In case the written request is produced after the coverage starts, then the unused portion of the premium will be refunded.

The plan pays for the comprehensive medical coverage, after the deductible, if the traveler is seeking treatment through the provider networks like United Healthcare PPO, Multiplan, and PHCS out of the area. For doctors and providers outside of the US, please visit WellAbroad to locate the doctors near you when outside of the US.

Co-insurance percentage details in the plan:

The plan pays 80% of the first $5000 after the deductible and then 100% up to the maximum limit inside the US within the PPO network. If the customer seeks treatment outside of the provider network in the US, then the plan pays 70% of the first $5,000, then 100% up to the maximum limit. For coverage received outside of the US, the plan pays 100% of the eligible expenses.
