Safe Travels Rental Plus insurance for US citizens
Safe Travels Rental Plus vacation rental insurance plan covers trip cancellation up to $10,000 for non-refundable travel arrangement payments such as vacation rentals, hotels, airfare and additional pre-paid amounts for your trip. This vacation rental insurance plan is available for trips starting up to 18 months from today and up to 30 days in length.
Without vacation rental insurance, you run the risk of possibly losing all or part of a vacation investment if unforeseen circumstances like the following happen:
- Illness, injury or death to you, your traveling companions, or a family member).
- Inclement weather that causes a complete cessation of services, or closure of public roadways for at least 24 consecutive hours.
- Unannounced strike causing a complete cessation of services.
- You or your traveling companion are hijacked, quarantined, required to serve on a jury, subpoenaed, required to appear as a witness in a legal action.
- Natural disasters like hurricanes or blizzards that cause a mandatory evacuation or cause your rental unit to be inaccessible or uninhabitable.
- Your Common Carrier has a mechanical breakdown or equipment failure.
- You are unable to ski during your trip due to 50% or more of the trails or slopes closing for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Military leave revocation/reassignment or military duty for a natural disaster.
- Documented traffic accident.

The plan offers a variety of benefits including trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and evacuation, baggage, and more. The plan also covers pre-existing medical conditions when coverage is purchased within 21 days of deposit and the full, nonrefundable trip cost is insured. The Safe Travels Rental Plus plan covers trip cancellation 100% up to $10k and trip interruption 125% up to $12,500.
It also offers $600 for potential accommodations/lodging expenses due to trip delay and airline ticket change fee. The plan offers Optional Coverage’s including Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) which provides reimbursement for 70% of the prepaid, non-refundable, forfeited payments you paid for your trip if you cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this plan. Rental Car Damage Coverage is also available as an optional benefit. The plan is available to US residents traveling within the United States and abroad.
The Safe Travels Rental Plus plan offers $40,000 emergency accident and sickness medical coverage. The plan also covers emergency medical evacuation up to $250K.
To file a claim with Safe Travels Rental Plus, you can use the online claim submission portal provided by Trawick International. To begin, you will need your number from your ID card or confirmation email. Any correspondence from Trawick International about your claim will be sent to the email address on file.
Alternatively, you can email or mail a claim form to Trawick International. However, it is important to note that a claim that is filled on the wrong form or mailed to the wrong address will delay or prevent processing, so be careful to choose the correct documents.

Plan Definitions
Free look period: is 14 days except in the following states: Arkansas 15 day Free Look, Texas 15 day Free Look, Virginia 15 day Free Look, Florida 21 day Free Look, Indiana 30 day Free Look, New York: After the14-day Free Look period has expired the insured may cancel their policy at any time with a pro-rata refund if the insured has not started their trip and a claim has not been filed or intended to be filed.
Pre-existing medical condition exclusion waiver: Exclusion is waived if coverage is purchased within 21 days of the initial trip deposit date, and the full, non-refundable trip cost is insured, and you are medically able to travel on the policy effective date.
Travel medical and dental expense-primary: For necessary covered expenses while on your covered trip and as a result of an accidental injury or emergency sickness that first manifests itself during the covered trip and the initial documented treatment is given by a physician during this trip.
Optional rental car damage: We will reimburse you for the cost of repairs and rental charges imposed by the rental company while the car is being repaired, the actual cash value of the car or the maximum benefit. You must be a licensed driver and listed on the rental agreement in order for coverage to apply.
