To use this benefit, travelers must register their flight at go.TravelerLoungePass.com at least 24 hours before departure. If your flight delay exceeds two hours, you can relax in a participating airport lounge. If a lounge is not available at your airport, the lounge access code can be used within the next six months.
How to activate: Register your flight at least 24 hours before scheduled departure through the Trawick portal.
Before you set sail, consult with Runway Health to ensure your prescriptions are filled, your health documentation is complete, and any medical needs are addressed before you board. Safe Travels Sailaway Essential insurance is a cruise travel insurance plan designed to protect travelers from unexpected events such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, cruise delays, and baggage loss during a cruise vacation.
This plan is available for U.S. residents traveling on cruise vacations. The insurance must be purchased before the cruise departure date.
Yes. The plan provides reimbursement for prepaid and non-refundable cruise trip costs if the trip is canceled due to covered reasons such as illness, injury, or other unexpected events.
If a traveler misses the cruise departure due to a covered travel delay, the plan may reimburse additional transportation expenses needed to reach the next port.
It is recommended to purchase travel insurance soon after booking your cruise to ensure coverage for trip cancellation benefits.
Unlike general-purpose travel insurance, Sailaway Essential was designed specifically for cruise travelers. It accounts for cruise-specific risks such as missing a port of departure, onboard medical incidents, and itinerary disruptions at sea โ situations that standard travel insurance often doesn't address comprehensively. The built-in Traveler Lounge Pass benefit also directly addresses one of the most common cruise travel frustrations: delayed flights to departure ports.
You can purchase Sailaway Essential at any point before your cruise departure date. However, for the most comprehensive coverage โ particularly for pre-existing medical conditions waivers and CFAR eligibility it's best to purchase within 14 to 21 days of making your initial trip deposit. The earlier you buy, the more completely you're covered in the time leading up to your cruise. Don't wait until the week before departure.
Sailaway Essential covers trip cancellation up to $25,000, emergency medical expenses up to $75,000, medical evacuation, trip interruption, trip delay, and baggage loss or delay. It also includes two valuable built-in perks: a Traveler Lounge Pass (airport lounge access when your flight is delayed 2+ hours) and a Runway Health pre-travel medical consultation. An optional Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) add-on is also available at purchase.
You can compare and buy Safe Travels Sailaway Essential travel insurance on American Visitor Insurance by reviewing the available cruise travel insurance plans from Trawick International. Travelers can compare coverage benefits, trip cancellation protection, and cruise medical travel insurance options based on their cruise trip cost, travel needs, and budget, and then purchase the plan online securely before the cruise departure.
Safe Travels Sailaway Essential insurance is not available for travel to or in Lebanon, Cuba, North Korea, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Ukraine/Crimea, Belarus, and Russia and other OFAC or travel restricted countries.
