The Safe Travels Sailaway Luxury is Trawick International's highest-tier cruise travel insurance plan, designed for U.S. residents embarking on luxury voyages, extended cruises, and high-value sailings. It offers the maximum coverage limits in the Sailaway series, including $250,000 in primary emergency medical coverage, $1,000,000 in evacuation protection, 100% trip cancellation up to $100,000, and exclusive optional Cancel For Any Reason and Interruption For Any Reason upgrades.
This plan is available to U.S. residents only. It covers trips up to a maximum of 90 days. It is not available for travel to OFAC-restricted countries including Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Russia, Ukraine/Crimea, Belarus, Sudan, Lebanon, and Palestine. CFAR and IFAR options are not available to New York residents or for travel to Israel.
If your cruise line changes the ship's itinerary without your approval for example, canceling a scheduled port stop and this prevents you from participating in a prepaid excursion or activity, you can be reimbursed for those non-refundable prepaid expenses up to $1,000. This is double the itinerary change benefit offered in the Sailaway Cruise tier. Not available in all states.
The inconvenience benefit provides a one-time payment of up to $250 if you experience a documented qualifying inconvenience caused by your travel supplier during the trip. All events must be documented by the travel supplier. This benefit is not available in all states.
Travelers should purchase cruise travel insurance as soon as possible after making the initial cruise deposit. Buying early may help travelers qualify for additional benefits such as the pre-existing condition waiver and optional upgrades.
Yes. The Safe Travels Sailaway Luxury plan offers an optional Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) upgrade — a benefit exclusive to this plan and not available in the Sailaway Essential or Sailaway Cruise tiers. With CFAR, you can cancel your cruise for absolutely any reason not otherwise covered by the standard policy and still receive 75% of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs back. To qualify for CFAR coverage:
Yes. The Safe Travels Sailaway Luxury plan also offers an optional Interruption For Any Reason (IFAR) upgrade — again exclusive to this tier and not available in the Essential or Cruise plans. While standard trip interruption only covers you if you cut your voyage short due to a specific covered reason listed in the policy, IFAR removes that requirement entirely.
With IFAR, if you need to end your cruise early for any reason at all — a personal decision, an unexpected family situation, a business emergency, or simply a change of plans — you can still recover 75% of your unused, non-refundable trip cost.
Yes, pre-existing medical conditions are covered if you purchase the plan within 21 days of your initial trip deposit date and insure the full non-refundable trip cost. The look-back period for pre-existing conditions is 180 days. The Sailaway Luxury plan offers a longer purchase window for this waiver than the Sailaway Cruise plan, which requires purchase within 14 days.
Yes, during the free look period you may cancel and receive a full premium refund, provided no claim has been filed and your trip has not yet begun. The free look period is 14 days in most states, with variations: 10 days in Arkansas, Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, New York, and Washington; 15 days in Texas; 21 days in Florida; and 30 days in Idaho and Indiana.
