Step-by-step guide

How Does StudentSecure Budget Insurance Work?

1
Step 1 - Before you see a doctor

Your policy covers sudden illness, accidental injury, and acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Routine checkups and elective procedures are excluded. For major events, call WorldTrips' 24/7 travel assistance line first.

2
Step 2 - At the hospital or clinic

Show your StudentSecure ID card at a UnitedHealthcare PPO provider to minimize out-of-pocket costs. Out-of-network providers are allowed, but you may need to pay upfront and file for reimbursement.

3
Step 3 - Understand your bill

With a $0 deductible, in-network care inside the U.S. is paid at 80% of the next $45,000 of eligible expenses (after applicable copayments), then 100% to the $250,000 per-injury/illness maximum. Outside the U.S., eligible expenses are paid at 100% after copayments, up to the overall maximum.

4
Step 4 - File a claim

Download the claims form, complete it, and submit it with supporting documents to the Claims Department, or call 1-800-628-4664 for guidance. Email [email protected] for assistance.

5
Step 5 - Reimbursement & policy continuation

WorldTrips processes claims and pays covered amounts once documentation is received. Your policy stays active until it expires or your $250,000 per-injury or $500,000 overall maximum is reached.
