What is Atlas America Travel Insurance for USA?

Atlas America is a travel medical insurance plan designed for international visitors traveling to the USA. It helps cover eligible medical expenses that may arise during a trip, such as doctor visits, hospitalization, emergency treatment, and other covered medical services.

Atlas America is a comprehensive visitor insurance plan from WorldTrips with access to the UnitedHealthcare PPO network. When you use a participating PPO provider, the plan offers 100% coinsurance after the deductible, subject to the plan's terms and conditions. Coverage is available for trips ranging from 5 days to 364 days, making it suitable for parents, family members, and other international visitors to the USA.

The plan also provides acute onset of pre-existing conditions coverage for eligible travelers up to age 79, subject to the plan's terms, conditions, and limits.

What is great about this plan: This is a good, comprehensive plan. This plan can be purchased without putting down a foreign address. It only requires a US mailing address, so it is good for graduates who may have been in the US for some time and need some coverage while they travel or before their employer insurance kicks in. After the deductible, there is no coinsurance.

Downsides to this plan: It can be pricey. The coverage for persons over 80 is very low.

After buying the plan, Traveler can get all the plan document and plan id card by using Atlas America login. At American Visitor Insurance, US Travelers can contact the Atlas America customer service to get help on the plan details, quotes and other queries. Our licensed agents will be glad to help you!

Who Is Atlas America Insurance Best Suited For?

Parents & senior relatives visiting the USA
Atlas America covers acute onset of pre-existing conditions up to age 79, with reduced overall maximums for travelers 65 and older - making it a solid choice for parents visiting USA on a B1/B2 visa who want protection against a sudden flare-up, not just brand-new illnesses and injuries.
family_restroom
Budget-conscious visitors & short-to-long stays
With coverage available from just 5 days and renewable up to 364 total days, Atlas America visitor insurance fits everything from a short family visit to an extended stay in the United States.
local_hospital
Travelers who want comprehensive, PPO-network coverage
As a comprehensive plan with access to the UnitedHealthcare PPO Network, Atlas America pays 100% of eligible in-network expenses after the deductible - no scheduled per-service payout caps like a fixed-benefit plan, and a policy maximum of up to $2,000,000 for travelers under 65.

Good to know:
Atlas America is available for travelers age 14 days to 99 years, but coverage maximums drop significantly for seniors - $50,000 to $100,000 for ages 65-79, and just $10,000 for age 80 and older. The plan does not cover routine or chronic pre-existing condition treatment, and it excludes trip cancellation coverage.

Best Comprehensive Travel Insurance for USA

Hi, Please can you suggest me a travel insurance for USA?

Regards,
Liberty

support_agent

Hi Liberty

Thank you for contacting American Visitor Insurance with your inquiry!

The Atlas America/Atlas Travel plan is a good comprehensive plan and very popular with tourists to the US because there is no coinsurance or cost after the deductible if you go within the PPO network of the company. This plan covers "acute onset of pre-existing condition" up to the age of 80.

There is an additional coverage available for adventure sports as well on this plan. They recently added a $15 copay for urgent care (paid instead of the deductible, unless your deductible is $0, then you do not pay the copay either). It is a unique plan in offering coverage for complications of pregnancy in the first 26 weeks of gestation.

This plan is good for people on OPT and H1 Visa holders who are already in the US for sometime. The issue with the OPT person or someone who has been in the US for some time is that many plans require to be bought within a certain time frame of your arrival into the US. Your last entry into the US is the one that counts in terms of eligibility for a new plan.

However, this plan does not restrict the purchase for this reason. This plan cannot be purchased from Canada, Australia and some US states (MD, WA, NY).
