person Hi

I am a Turkish citizen living and working in Los Angeles. I am a green card holder.
I will apply for Netherlands Business Visa. I would like to purchase Travel Health Insurance that is required for Visa application. Kindly assist me how to purchase.

Best Regards
Deniz

person Dear Deniz

You are eligible for many options as a US permanent resident traveling outside the US. To compare options, use our Schengen visa compare insurance search engine. You enter your age and dates of the trip as well as what state you reside in to get all the options available for you. The companies that we recommend all provide a "Schengen visa letter" which is the document you need to provide the consulate to show you have the appropriate insurance for your trip. We can generally walk you through the process or email it to you should you run into any difficulty. Note that you will get access to these documents almost immediately after purchase.

03. Insurance options for US Green Card holder going to Canada

person Hi

I am a Green Card holder living in the US. I will be going to Canada for one year.
What are the insurance options you have for me?

Thank you,
Ruhul

person Dear Ruhul

Thank you for contacting us at AVI for your travel health insurance needs. Probably the most economical and flexible option is to use a "short term" travel health insurance plan which you can have for up to 12 months. You can choose the maximum and deductible you want and you will find the prices quite economical. Search your travel insurance for visiting Canada. These policies are for sudden illness or accident only.

If there is a possibility that you will stay longer than a year, or if you see yourself living out of the US for more years in the future, but would still like to have access to US-like medical insurance coverage, you can sign up for global medical insurance. This international insurance will cover you wherever you go, including wellness visits. You can search your Canada travel insurance options for that type of insurance. Note that these policies are not guaranteed and you will have to answer medical questions and you may be rejected if you have certain conditions.

Please let us know if we can help any further

The best options for those not yet pregnant are global health insurance options. These provide major medical coverage but they have a 10 month (for partial coverage) or 12 month waiting period. You can find quotes for global health insurance here:

Best green card insurance, Green card medical insurance - FAQ's

01.  Can a green card holder intending to reside permanently in the US going forward buy the INF plans? Can they put down an US address?

Yes. INF insurances provides coverage for many green card holders, especially those who are above age 65. INF insurance plans also offer ancillary benefits such as dental and telemedicine which are usually separate policies under domestic US health insurance.
Following are the list of US travel insurance plans:

02.  Can green card holders buy Patriot America plus insurance?

Patriot America Plus and Patriot Platinum America plans are based on the primary residence country that the member lists on the application. The Green Card holders can buy Patriot America Plus insurance for coverage in the US, as long as their primary residence is outside the US. There is no set amount of time they have to purchase. However, if they establish a permanent residence in the US, they are not eligible. So if they have a home (purchased or renting) here in the US, they can’t get our coverage.

Provided they are eligible, if/when they submit a claim for treatment in the US, we will ask for their proof of residency in another country (renters agreement, bills to that address, etc) Just something showing that they live anywhere else.

03.  How long can an INF plan be renewed? This is important since Green card holders are not eligible for Medicare for 5 years after they enter the US?
