questionDear All,
I am a Turkish citizen living and working in Los Angeles. I am a green card holder.
I will apply for Netherlands Business Visa. I would like to purchase Travel Health Insurance that is required for Visa application. Kindly assist me how to purchase.
Best Regards
Deniz

question Dear Deniz, You are eligible for many options as a US permanent resident traveling outside the US. To compare options, use our Schengen visa compare insurance search engine. You enter your age and dates of the trip as well as what state you reside in to get all the options available for you. The companies that we recommend all provide a "Schengen visa letter" which is the document you need to provide the consulate to show you have the appropriate insurance for your trip. We can generally walk you through the process or email it to you should you run into any difficulty. Note that you will get access to these documents almost immediately after purchase.

questionHello,
I am a Green Card holder living in the US. I will be going to Canada for one year.
What are the insurance options you have for me?
Thank You
Ruhul

question Dear Ruhul,
Thank you for contacting us at AVI for your travel health insurance needs. Probably the most economical and flexible option is to use a "short term" travel health insurance plan which you can have for up to 12 months. You can choose the maximum and deductible you want and you will find the prices quite economical. Search your travel insurance for visiting Canada. These policies are for sudden illness or accident only.

If there is a possibility that you will stay longer than a year, or if you see yourself living out of the US for more years in the future, but would still like to have access to US-like medical insurance coverage, you can sign up for global medical insurance. This international insurance will cover you wherever you go, including wellness visits. You can search your options for that type of insurance HERE. Note that these policies are not guaranteed and you will have to answer medical questions and you may be rejected if you have certain conditions.

Please let us know if we can help any further

questionHello,
My mother is 93 years old. She is coming to the US from Canada. We have applied for Green Card for her and we need insurance that she can use while she is a Green Card holder. Can you suggest a suitable plan?
Thank You
Katy

questionDear Katy,
It was nice talking to you a short while back. You do have a few choices for travelers 90 years old and over. The maximum 'comprehensive' coverage you get is either $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000, while you can get more coverage with 'fixed benefit' plans.
To know the difference between fixed and comprehensive plans, please refer to

Fixed v/s comprehensive plans

Here is the plan that is available for you visitor who is 93 and will be a Green Card holder soon.
Inbound Immigrant: plan from Seven Corners:

questionHi,
My name is Daliah, I am a UK citizen currently applying for my green card - I am looking for coverage while I'm in the U.S and hope to get pregnant in the next couple of months is there a plan that you can offer my that gives me both coverage (in and out patient) as well as maternity cover?
Many thanks,
Daliah

questionDear Daliah,
Thank you for your inquiry to American Visitor Insurance. If you are considering becoming pregnant and want to be sure you have insurance that will cover it, there are options available. If you are a student enrolled full time in a college, then may be a 90 day waiting period or no waiting period for the pregnancy to be covered (although conception must occur AFTER the coverage begins). You can find quotes for student insurance here:

Student Medical Compare

If you are not a student, the shortest waiting period (also 3 months) is for this policy which is only a fixed policy and offers $2,800 per pregnancy only. To purchase this policy, go to:

Inbound Immigrant     Plan Details     Buy Now

The best options for those not yet pregnant are global health insurance options. These provide major medical coverage but they have a 10 month (for partial coverage) or 12 month waiting period. You can find quotes for global health insurance here:

Global Travel Compare

The best global option for maternity coverage is Global Medical Platinum which covers maternity after 10 months continuous coverage of the plan. There is a pregnancy deductible of $2500 applicable on this plan.
For the brochure/Buy link of the Global Medical Platinum, please click on the below link and look under the Platinum column for details:

questionTo whom it may concern,
I read about your Inbound Immigrant Insurance plan. My parents are not US citizens but with green cards. They only come to the US for a few weeks every year.
I wonder whether they can purchase the Inbound Immigrant Insurance plan for the time they are in the U.S. Please let me know.
Thanks!
Best,
Wei Yu

questionDear Wei-hsin Yu,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your travel health insurance needs!
The Inbound Immigrant policy by Seven Corners is very affordable and is specifically designed for green card holders moving to the US. They have just added coverage for "acute onset" of a pre-existing condition for persons under 70 which makes it extremely competitive even with comprehensive policies. This plan is renewable for five years which is another reason for the plan to be suitable for Green Card holders. This plan is a fixed plan.

questionHi,
My wife is Green Card holder. While she returns from Poland she will need insurance while staying in US. Do you sell insurance for Green Card holders in US?
Thanks,
Amjad

questionDear Amjad,
These policies, are suitable for long term Green Card holders. The application is long and requires medical questions. The coverage is NOT guaranteed and the application must go through the underwriting process. However, once you get on a plan, after 1 year it is a major medical plan like domestic US plans with very complete coverage.

questionHi
I need insurance for my parents who are on Green Card. I live in the state of Maryland. Can you suggest me the right policy as I am getting warnings when I try to purchase IMG Patriot insurance?
Thanks,

questionDear Sir,
Thanks for contacting us with your inquiry!
Not all plans provide coverage for the state of Maryland.
Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for green card holders who are residing in the state of Maryland. The laws of insurance are governed by each state and Maryland has made it very difficult for some companies to provide insurance. If you are not happy about the situation, we suggest you bring it up with your state legislature.
