International Health Insurance Forum

Hi,
I wanted to touch base with you to possibly get an insurance quote for our international students for next year. I will have approximately 30-35 to cover. I don't need a premium plan...if we could get a quote on a middle of the road plan...that has a co-pay for office visits (I am thinking it would be less expensive)... They are all on an F1 Visa.
I have a few questions about your coverage: What/who in the Melbourne, Florida area accepts this insurance? Do the students have to pay in advance and then submit a claim form? What is the pre-existing conditions waiting period? If they were to go to a doctor for a simple check up and/or basic sports physical, would the visit be covered or there a co-pay due/ Please respond as soon as possible as I will be making a decision by July 19. Regards
Missie

Dear Missie,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your travel health insurance needs! We have several group plans we could go with. The one I have in mind for you is called Patriot Exchange and I like it because there is a $100 deductible payable per injury/sickness and no other charge. It will cost about $57 per student per month for a $250,000 maximum policy (this includes full coverage for injuries sustained doing HS sports). The other group plans all have a deductible and after that a coinsurance payment of 20% usually of the next $5000. Here are links to the policy I am recommending for you. (Note that the "add-on" includes coverage for high school sports, so I included that in the price) To get a free quote and/or buy Patriot Exchange insurance:

The suggested plan has a waiting period of 12 months for coverage of pre-existing conditions.
Please see the provider network at the below link where you can find the providers near your area by giving your zipcode:
 Provider Network

Payment for the claims is totally dependent on the providers. Generally if you go to a provider within the network they might do direct billing. If not, you will have to make the payment in advance and get it reimbursed by sending the scanned bill receipts to the insurance company.
There are no coverage available for wellness in this plan. If you need this, there is another plan below:

Hi,
I am an American living in Germany. If I buy a dental plan, will I be covered here? If not, could you possibly recommend a stand-alone dental plan that would cover me in Germany?
Thank you kindly,
Charlie Dent

Dear Charlie,
We do not sell stand-alone international dental plans. Some global insurance policies we sell have a dental rider that you can purchase to go with them (HTH Global Citizen, HCC Citizen Secure, and Seven Corners Reside Prime). That's all we have. You can always go to a dentist in Germany and ask how much they will charge you since you are not a citizen and have no insurance. It may not be as much as you might expect.
Here are links for global health insurance policies in case they may apply:
