Travel worldwide from Australia including US

This would be for my mother, myself, and my daughter. My daughter and I would need it for a trip to France with my mother. My mother would need it for a trip to the USA, France, and Scotland.
  1. Does Emergency Medical Evacuation include a return to home if considered Medically Appropriate?
  2. My Australian mother will be in the USA for a total of 17 days. (13 in May 2023 + 4 days in June 2023).and in France for 12 days and the UK for 10 days. Would this policy cover me for those various travels. ?
  3. What is the difference between them? “In-Network”. And “Out of Network” and what effect does either have on the policy?
  4. Am I correct in reading that the benefit of a pre-existing condition Acute onset is $35,000 for over 70 yr. old? My mother is 86 and is in excellent health. The only treatment/medication she is on is eye drops (Lumigan. Pf. Once daily. )for Glaucoma which is well-controlled. She has an annual check-up with all the regular blood tests etc.
  5. Emergency Medical Evacuation / Repatriation / and AD & D benefits are limited to $25,000 for Pre-existing conditions.?

I'd like to speak with a representative. What are your regular business hours?

Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Safe Travels USA needs!

Our answers are in line with your questions.

  1. Does Emergency Medical Evacuation include a return to home if considered Medically Appropriate?
Yes. The plan covers emergency medical evacuation if medically appropriate.
  2. My Australian mother will be in the USA for a total of 17 days. (13 in May 2023 + 4 days in June 2023). and in France for 12 days and the UK for 10 days. Would this policy cover me for those various travels?
Not all plans provide worldwide coverage. If the plan covers US citizens going outside of the US, then there will be another plan for Non-US citizens traveling outside their home country to the US and other countries
Safe Travels Outbound plan covers US citizens going outside of the US
Safe Travels International covers Non-US citizens traveling outside their home country except to the US
  3. What is the difference between them? “In-Network”. And “Out of Network” and what effect does either have on the policy?
Each Insurance company has an associated PPO network also known as Provider Network. This is a network of doctors in a specific geographical area. If you happen to go to a facility within this network for treatment, it is called an "In network".The benefits of going to "In network" are your co-insurance percentage will be waived or reduced.
Sometimes, your claim will be processed by directly billing the insurance company instead of getting it reimbursed by first paying out of your pocket. Out-of-network is going to a facility that is not associated with this network but the insurance plan will still cover you there will be a percentage of co-insurance applicable for this.
This will usually be 10 - 20% Co-insurance is applicable only up to a specific amount usually $5000 after which the plan will pay 100%.
She has an annual check-up with all the regular blood tests etc
If you are talking about the Safe Travels plan, they cover only the acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Please visit our web page for more details Trawick International
  5. Emergency Medical Evacuation / Repatriation / and AD & D benefits are limited to $25,000 for Pre-existing conditions?
    Yes, that is correct

Insurance Coverage for Australians visiting the US

I'm currently in China and I'm 26 years old. I'm a Australian citizen and I plan to travel to USA at the end of June. If you could please help that would be grateful.

Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Safe Travels USA needs!

Here is an excellent comprehensive plan Safe Travels USA from Travel Insurance Services. This plan does not have any restrictions with any state in US. This plan works as a visitor plan for Non US Citizens, permanent residents, Green Card holders.

This plan has an optional benefit of covering hazardous sports activity which makes it an excellent option for customers interested in hazardous sports. This plan provides coverage for motocross racing which is one of the highly requested activity for coverage. Australian citizens can purchase the plan, but they have to provide a non-Australia mailing address. The billing address and the citizenship can be Australia.

To get quote and purchase this plan, please visit the below link:

Buy Safe Travels USA Insurance

In the above link, scroll to the bottom to see the "Hazardous Sports" option and by clicking on that you can view all the supported activities.

Below are the links for the plan details and company brochure which enlists all the available benefits of the plan:

I tried going to link like you said in this email to get a quote but after filling out form i keep getting this email:

"We are sorry, but we are unable to process your request:
Please contact us regarding alternate plans that may be available to you."

Can you please help me!

I'm not sure what that error message is referring to. I know that persons in Australia and Canada are not able to purchase this plan while physically located in those countries.

If this applies to you, you can make your purchase once you reach the States. I am sorry for any inconvenience. If this is not your situation, please tell me from where you are attempting the purchase, your age and details and I can look into the matter further.

I think i have sorted my original problem. I can find on the website though a link to definitions of words used by USA health care. I would like to know all the definitions of the hazard sports defined in USA health care and i would also like to know all the reasons and actions that would cause my insurance to become void.

This link shows all the details of the plan. In general sports participation is covered as long as it is not done professionally or against advice from local authorities (closed ski slopes, etc). However, please read details for full explanation:

Sorry I'm still a little confused? With extra sports coverage am i covered if i choose the extra coverage and if i hurt my self participating in parachuting, skydiving, paragliding, hand gliding, base jumping, etc etc I will be covered as long as I'm doing that sport as a profession (being paid a wage etc)? I also would like to know will this insurance will just cover me for USA or will it cover me for Canada and South America etc? and i would also like to know will my insurance be exempted if i was to get hurt while trespassing (say i was lost etc and was on someones farm etc) and also how long does it take for the certificate be sent to my address in China?

Thank you this should be the last of my questions

The sports coverage is only if you are NOT doing it professionally. Diplomat America is for coverage in the US and elsewhere. The Safe Travels USA policy will cover you outside Australia and China (since these are your home countries).

Generally, insurance will not cover you if you are committing a crime (felony or more serious crime); however, accidentally landing on someone's farm is probably not enough to get your coverage removed unless it was on purpose for some other criminal reason.

You can read details and definitions of coverage here:

Safe Travela USA Brochure

Once you complete your purchase online you will immediately get a confirmation email with all of your insurance documents which you can print out and have available. Companies prefer not to mail to foreign addresses due to lengthy and sometimes uncertain arrival.

You may be able to pay extra for expedited arrival of mail if this is important to you. However, the documents you receive in electronic form are considered official and can be used to access your insurance should you need to.

Insurance Coverage for Australians visiting the US multiple times

When I apply for Visitor Medical Insurance as I have done for a number of years to visit the USA I get a message saying that if I am in Australia while making the application that I must cancel the application. Can you please explain as I need to purchase a plan for myself and for Mary T Morgan.

Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Safe Travels USA needs!

I am guessing that you were trying to purchase the Safe Travels USA Healthcare. If that is that case then you may not be able to purchase this plan while you are physically located in Australia What you can do then is to purchase this plan once you arrived to the US.

You can get all information about Visit USA Healthcare Insurance plan by reading the plan brochure. You can buy the Safe Travels USA Healthcare Insurance policy online.

Please let us know if we can help you in any further.
