Medical insurance for US citizen living abroad visiting the US
I am US citizen. My wife is Philippine citizen and my son is a dual citizen. I need insurance for my wife and son to visit US. Which country of citizenship should I enter for my son. Can I buy the same plan for my wife and son? Can they both be on one plan or should I do separate ones? Which address should I use for the residence mailing address for my son?.

Information regarding Patriot America Plus Insurance plan
I want information regarding Patriot America Plus Insurance plan. Specifically, whether the plan covers pre-existing condition..
commentShreekant
support_agentDear Shreekant
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your
travel health insurance needs!. Technically, no plan we offer will cover pre-existing medical conditions. That means, if a person requires regular medication or treatment, the plan will not pay for it (nor for a doctor visit to continue such treatment). So, if a person is on dialysis, the plan will not pay for this continued, although necessary treatment. Nor will the plan pay for heart medication for a heart patient.
What it does cover is called "acute onset" of a pre-existing condition for persons under 70 years of age. What this means is, should the person have an emergency due to their pre-existing condition, then they WILL be covered up to the maximum of the plan for that hospitalization and treatment. Note that it cannot be due to lack of required medical treatment, but must be something unexpected. "Acute" refers to the fact that the condition must be taken care of right away and is life-threatening (or to cause major functional harm like loss of limb or blindness).
You can find this outlined in the brochure. Many people find this confusing, because the plan documents will say they DO NOT cover pre-existing conditions as well as say that they do. That is because the coverage is limited in the above way I have described.

Patriot America Plus Insurance for pre-existing conditions coverage
Please inform me the following:
- List of the medical centers, clinics, doctors, hospitals, emergency centers etc in network of Patriot America Plus.
- Will F2 visa holder be eligible?
- Will it cover pre-existing condition if it gets worse?
- Will it cover dental care?
commentRifat
support_agentDear Rifat
Find your answers below:
- You can search the company’s PPO network using the links below; you will have to put in your zip code and then choose what type of provider/hospital you are interested in.
- A dependent of a F1 visa holder is perfectly eligible for any of the visitor medical insurance for F2 visa holders we offer on our website. The only issue is that some institutions have requirements that must be met. In that case, we would have to make sure that those requirements are met.
- A covered illness will be covered by the same policy as long as you maintain continuous coverage (renew and do not let the policy expire).
- Injury to a tooth is covered to maximum of the plan; however, a sudden pain will only be covered in the amount of $100 (anything else will not be covered). Does not cover regular check-ups or teeth cleaning.
Thank you for your interest in
Patriot America Plus. It is a very good and economical policy which we recommend quite often. Here are the links for the plan below:

You should have no problem if you complete the application this way. Please complete the form using:

I am trying to buy the Patriot International plan and have a few Questions. I am an Indian passport holder, but currently live in the US. I am traveling to Iceland on a holiday. While purchasing the plan, I am asked what is my Primary Destination country ? I am confused because it states - "For non-U.S. citizens, select U.S. if any of your destinations include the U.S. "

Travel Medical Insurance coverage for routine blood tests in USA
I had a few questions on Patriot America Lite plan that I am interested in purchasing for my father who is 67 years and is coming to USA and his home country is Bangladesh.
- Patriot America Lite or any other short term travel medical insurance plan does not provide coverage for routine check ups (preventive care).Patriot America Plus Plan provides coverage for an unexpected sickness or injury. If your visitor has pre existing conditions then any sudden recurrence of the condition will be getting choosen maximum coverage up to 70 years for Non US citizen .
- There is no waiting period on accessing any services. This plan however needs to be purchased before 30 days after arrival in US.
- For a policy maximum of $50,000 and a deductible of $250, for the age 67, the premium for the specified time period would be about $528.95.
- Assuming that your father is a Non US Citizen, he can get coverage through Patriot America Lite from USA to Melbourne. Hope fully this was helpful!
