Hi,
! I’m an international student and I’m looking for insurance plans for my husband and daughter who both hold F2 Visa. The insurance plan must cover the following: Medical benefits of at least USD 100000 per accident or illness; remains repatriation coverage of at least USD 25000 per person covered, coverage for expenses associated with medical evacuation to the international student’s home country of at least 50,000 per person covered; and Deductibles that do not exceed 500 per accident or illness. Could you please let me know if there’s anything I can further pursue?
Thank you,Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your F2 visa student health insurance needs!.
The Patriot Exchange plan is a very economical plan that can be used to meet F2 visa requirements and for international students. The plan can be purchased for the F2 visa holder as long as the F1 visa holder already has coverage from their institution. The deductible can be $500 or less with no further costs for the insured (most plans have coinsurance which still must be paid after the deductible). Also, if the institution has a health center, you can pay only a $5 copay for each visit for additional benefit and savings. You can purchase this plan with a sports rider to cover such activities such as downhill skiing. All these benefits make it a popular and excellent choice. This is the only student plan available for F2 while F1 is already on a plan. To get details for Patriot Exchange (including brochure, PPO, claims information) and to get a free quote and/or buy Patriot Exchange insurance, please visit the below link:
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. We would be happy to assist you! The F2 visa holders are also eligible to purchase the visitor insurance plans.
Regards,Hi,
I am looking for a Health Insurance for my wife, Aycan.
I am F1 Student visa holder, working for a construction company and have insurance from my company. My wife is holding F2 visa and planning to get pregnant in a year; she doesn't have SSN. After my online research, I found Patriot Exchange insurance which is for F2 visa holders and covers maternity. Can you please give me information about health insurance plans and prices?
Thank you,Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your F2 visa insurance needs!. The Patriot Exchange student insurance plan is available for F2 Visa holder alone in case the F1 Visa holder is already having health insurance. This is the only student insurance plan that is available for F2 visa holders, the other student plans are not available for F2 visa holders without the F1 visa holder also being on the same plan. However, the Patriot Exchange plan does not provide coverage for Maternity and Pregnancy.
Here you can find the visitor insurance plans that are suitable for F2 Visa holders but again they DO NOT cover maternity and pregnancy: Know More »

Regards,Hello,
I'm interested in F2 Medical insurance Atlas Premium America Plan. What does it mean by "up to $15 copy" in the outpatient benefit for doctor office visits?
Could you give an example? How much is the maximum coverage for doctor visits?
Thank you,Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your F2 visa insurance needs!.
Copay is the amount that you pay for each doctor visit. If you have chosen the plan with a $0 deductible, then you need not pay the copay.
The maximum coverage that the plan will provide will be not more than what you have selected as policy maximum on your plan.
Let's say you have bought a plan with $50 deductible and a policy maximum of $50,000.
When you visit a doctor for some illness and let's say you incur a cost of $500 for the medicine and the check up. For the first time visit and medical expense you incur, you will be paying the $50 deductible and then you will pay $15 as co pay. The insurance company will be paying $435.
This plan says that the insurance company will pay 100% of co-insurance.
So, you do not have to worry about that.
Hello,
I am a Harvard Law School student with F-1 visa. I am looking for an insurance for my wife with a dependent visa F-2.
I have several questions as below.
1. Would there be any insurance that covers pregnancy for my wife?
2. Although my wife is not yet pregnant right now, would it be possible to purchase the insurance even after she is pregnant?
3. Is it possible to only purchase the insurance for one or two month? Or is there any minimum period to purchase the insurance?
I would appreciate if you could recommend any insurance that could cover pregnancy for a short period including the rate information.
Thank you,
Sungmin

I am F2 visa holder and 6 weeks pregnant. I'll be joining my husband in USA in last week of October, 2016. I want to know about the insurance coverage i can avail for my whole pregnancy period and post pregnancy. Please advise appropriate coverage plan.
Thanks,Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your F2 visa insurance needs!. Since health insurance is for the unexpected, no policy will cover the delivery and wellness visits of a current pregnancy. However, we have one option that covers "complications of pregnancy" in the first 26 weeks of gestation.
Clearly, this is insurance that we hope you would not need, but should there be some problem or a premature birth event, you would be covered. Furthermore, the policy has many excellent benefits and will take care of you in case of any sudden illness or accident.
The plan is called Atlas America and can be purchased on line for guaranteed coverage. It also covers "acute onset" of pre-existing conditions. Children under 10 years of age are "free" with a paying adult on the policy.
Immediately after your purchase, you will get a confirmation email with an ID card that you can print out and should carry with you since it has all the information needed to access your insurance should you need to.
Do let us know if we can assist you further.

The best options for those not yet pregnant are global health insurance options. These provide major medical coverage but they have a 10 month (for partial coverage) or 12 month waiting period. You can find quotes for global health insurance here:
Global Travel Compare
The best option for maternity coverage is Global Medical Platinum which covers maternity like any other illness. The Global Medical Gold plan only covers $5,000 for normal delivery and $7,500 for c-section). With all of the above plans, you will be charged an additional cost (usually $2,500) added to your premium to cover pregnancy. Another option that has recently added a maternity benefit is the Reside Worldwide plan which also has a 12 month wait period and only covers $4,000 for normal delivery, but has no additional cost for the maternity coverage.
Please let us know if we can help you in any further.
Regards,I am 26 from China. Currently I am a F2 visa holder in US. I want to know more about the health insurance that fits me. It is better if the health insurance can cover the maternity just in case of pregnancy. I looked other QA and confused about this sentence 'These provide major medical coverage but they have a 10 month (for partial coverage) or 12 month waiting period.' Could you explain what is the waiting period.
Regards,The waiting period means that you cannot get pregnant before 10 months or 12 months are over. If want sooner coverage, as a student I suggest any of the following policies:
These all cover pregnancy as long as conception occurs after the start of the policy. You can read the brochure for details.
Regards,I am an F2 Visa holder who is living in the US for a couple of years. I do not have the health insurance from my institution now.
