Hi,

I am looking for a Health Insurance for my wife, Aycan.

I am F1 Student visa holder, working for a construction company and have insurance from my company. My wife is holding F2 visa and planning to get pregnant in a year; she doesn't have SSN. After my online research, I found Patriot Exchange insurance which is for F2 visa holders and covers maternity. Can you please give me information about health insurance plans and prices?

The Patriot Exchange student insurance plan is available for F2 Visa holder alone in case the F1 Visa holder is already having health insurance. This is the only student insurance plan that is available for F2 visa holders, the other student plans are not available for F2 visa holders without the F1 visa holder also being on the same plan. However, the Patriot Exchange plan does not provide coverage for Maternity and Pregnancy.

Hello,

I'm interested in F2 Medical insurance Atlas Premium America Plan. What does it mean by "up to $15 copy" in the outpatient benefit for doctor office visits?

Could you give an example? How much is the maximum coverage for doctor visits?

Copay is the amount that you pay for each doctor visit. If you have chosen the plan with a $0 deductible, then you need not pay the copay.

The maximum coverage that the plan will provide will be not more than what you have selected as policy maximum on your plan.

Let's say you have bought a plan with $50 deductible and a policy maximum of $50,000.

When you visit a doctor for some illness and let's say you incur a cost of $500 for the medicine and the check up. For the first time visit and medical expense you incur, you will be paying the $50 deductible and then you will pay $15 as co pay. The insurance company will be paying $435.

This plan says that the insurance company will pay 100% of co-insurance.

So, you do not have to worry about that.

I am a Harvard Law School student with F-1 visa. I am looking for an insurance for my wife with a dependent visa F-2.
I have several questions as below.
1. Would there be any insurance that covers pregnancy for my wife?
2. Although my wife is not yet pregnant right now, would it be possible to purchase the insurance even after she is pregnant?
3. Is it possible to only purchase the insurance for one or two month? Or is there any minimum period to purchase the insurance?

However, we have one option that covers "complications of pregnancy" in the first 26 weeks of gestation.

The plan is called Atlas America and can be purchased on line for guaranteed coverage. It also covers "acute onset" of pre-existing conditions. Children under 10 years of age are "free" with a paying adult on the policy.

It is better if the health insurance can cover the maternity just in case of pregnancy. The waiting period means that you cannot get pregnant before 10 months or 12 months are over. If want sooner coverage, as a student I suggest any of the following policies:
