It has the $2,000 "lodging" (called trip delay which includes quarantine) benefit and covers medical expenses due to COVID-19 up to $250,000 (well over their requirement). This is a trip cancellation policy, so you can insure the non-reimbursable portion of your trip if you choose to.

We recommend, in these unprecedented times, to add the "Cancel For Any Reason" rider to your plan so that if your trip is cancelled due to border closures, you can recuperate 75% of your expenses for a new trip in the future.

If you do not use this rider, then you will only be reimbursed for set reasons usual for trip cancellation policies (sickness of you or travel companion, termination of employment,level 4 travel advisory of your destination country, theft of passport, mandatory evacuation, etc - see brochure for all conditions).

You should purchase your trip soon after you make your initial trip deposit (within 10 days) and you will get a visa letter which states you have coverage to meet all the requirements for Costa Rica immediately after purchase.

You can only purchase Long term Europe Visa Insurance for one year at a time and you cannot buy it too far in advance either. You should be able to buy the insurance you need for your visa for one year and then extend it (near the end of the year) for your additional 2 months or as long as you need it (up to another year). I'm pretty sure that consulates are OK with this because that's just the way all insurance policies work. Get Quote

Hi,

I am interested in the Patriot International plan. I want to know if I can buy that plan for visiting outside the US. I will be attending visa interview in the Greek consulate and will stay there for a year.

If for some reason I get rejected, I will have to change the destination as Germany on the same plan. Can I do that?

Does the policy show the list of countries covered? Can the dates on the policy be changed?

You can put both destinations on the policy. Dates on the policy can be changed before the policy takes effect, otherwise it cannot be changed. The list of countries that are covered will not be listed on the policy.

Hi,

Arriving Italy May 3rd going to Prague then Budapest taking 15 day river cruise to Amsterdam then flying to Seattle Wa. Need medical Ins. from May 3 to May 29.

Hi,

Once again, my wife and I will be traveling and we want to purchase travel insurance but do not know which plan would be best for our circumstances.

I am an American living in Brazil along with my Brazilian wife. We will begin traveling to China (Beijing and Qingdao is what we have planned) as well as Seoul, Korea.

Our flights will take us from Sao Paulo (leaving Aug 27 at 8:50pm) through Dallas/Ft. Worth (arriving Aug 28 at 5:20am) to Seoul (arriving Aug 29 at 3:15pm). We spend a night in Seoul before flying to Beijing (Aug 30).

We will be in China from Aug 30 to Sept 8. Then we fly from Qingdao back to Seoul. From Sept 8 to 17, we will be in Seoul. On Sept 17, we fly from Seoul through Dallas/Ft. Worth (arriving Sept 17 at 4:00pm), leaving later that day for our flight to Sao Paulo.

My questions are - which type(s) of insurance would be best for me and my wife, considering that I am an American living in Brazil with my Brazilian wife, and not only are we traveling to China and Seoul, but we will be flying through the United States (even though that is not our destination). and what days should I plan on getting coverage for, considering that our flights to and from Brazil leave in the evening and arrive the following day.

Hi! All you need is the information found on the ID card which should be attached or links to the confirmation email you received after you made your purchase. If you can't print it out for some reason, you will need the following information: Your certificate number and the phone number for the insurance company.

If you need to call them from overseas, use the direct number (not the toll free number) and call collect; they will accept your call anytime as well as any doctor/hospital you use.

Being an Indian residing in US you need to provide the proof of resident status in the US which can be either a Green card, a valid US visa, a copy of valid I-20 or valid I-AP66, visas to apply for a Schengen/short stay visa. The visas or the US resident status must be valid for at least 3 months after the last day of stay in the Schengen area. As required by the Schengen consulate, you are required to buy a travel health insurance plan that satisfies the visa requirements.
