Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your F1 Visa Insurance needs!
Since you are on F1 Visa and have already lived here in the US for some time now, you will not be eligible to buy some of our visitor plans. But here is one popular short term comprehensive plan that is available for you.
Atlas Travel plan from WorldTrips: The Atlas America plan is a good comprehensive plan and very popular with tourists to the US because if you stay within their PPO network (group of doctors and hospitals) you do not have to pay coinsurance (usually 20% of the first $5,000 of medical expenses). Also, children under 10 are covered at no charge with a paying adult (do put them on the application, though). Also, the plan covers "acute onset of pre-existing conditions" for persons under 70 years of age and adventure sports for no additional charge.
To purchase the Atlas America plan and look over details of this plan, use this link (PPO, claims, brochure), you can go directly to this site:

I will be glad to assist in answering any questions you may have in identifying the plan that best meets requirements for your visa and/or institution as well as help you in completing the plan application.
The other option is the Student Health Advantage by IMG. This plan is available up to 300,000 policy amount. There is a 100 per injury/sickness deductible. There is no coinsurance within PPO network or Student Health Center; Out of network- 80% of first $5000 and then 100% thereafter.

However, while they have many benefits in common and the premium is also similar, different student insurance plans do have some additional benefits or perhaps some specific constraints. In order to choose the best plan based on the students requirements and to get sufficient coverage from the international student insurance plan, it is important to compare different features available in the student health insurance plan.
The following are important factors for comparing student health insurance plans:
Policy Maximum: This is the maximum amount on the insurance plan which normally ranges from $50,000 up to $1,000,000. This is the maximum a policy can cover in case of an extreme emergency as per the policy guidelines and conditions mentioned in the policy.

Picking a large deductible thus low premium by choosing a comprehensive plan is usually recommended, as most of the comprehensive plans have an one time deductible and is cost effective.
Pre existing condition coverage: This is very important benefit factor as many customers need this benefit. The student plans have a minimum 6 month waiting period for coverage of pre-existing conditions.
