Student Health Advantage group insurance is a type of travel medical insurance for groups of five or more students, scholars, and who desire an annually renewable medical plan. This plan meets student visa requirements, includes benefits for maternity, mental health, organized sports and international emergency care. It offers two plans: Standard and Platinum. The Standard plan offers basic coverage and benefits for your group’s travel medical needs. The Platinum plan offers enhanced coverage and benefits for your group’s travel medical needs. Student Health Advantage is available for both individuals and groups. The group insurance is for 5 or more individuals offering 10% discount.

Comprehensive plan provides exhaustive coverage when compared to fixed or scheduled benefit plans. The plan pays for all expenses after the deductible and co-insurance component. The plan is recommended given the high costs of health care arouond the world. The plan is worth every penny of premium paid in the event of catastrophic medical emergencies.

These plans do not have benefit limits based on the type of medical expense.

The amount that Student Health Advantage student medical insurance pays for covid19 expenses depends on the plan option you choose (Standard or Platinum), the provider network you use (UnitedHealthcare or outside), and the policy maximum and deductible you select. Generally, the plan pays as follows:

For Standard option, the plan pays 90% of eligible medical expenses up to $1K then 100% thereafter within the UnitedHealthcare network in the US; outside the network in the US, the plan pays 80% of eligible medical expenses up to the policy maximum.
