Who Is Eligible for Student Journey Insurance?
- Non-U.S. individuals coming to the USA (or its territories) on F1, F2, J1, J2 or M1 visas.
- At least 31 days old but not yet 65 years old.
- Spouses and dependent children of an eligible participant residing outside their primary country of residence temporarily.
- Physically and legally residing in the USA with intent to stay at least 30 days from the effective date.
Eligible insureds can request renewal in increments from 30 days up to a maximum of 12 continuous months, provided premiums are paid on time and eligibility is maintained. Coverage can be re-applied for, but is not automatically renewed.
Restrictions: Student Journey insurance is not available to residents of, or travelers visiting, Belarus, Russia, Iran or Ukraine.
Coverage Conditions
- Subject to the deductible, coinsurance and terms of the Certificate of Insurance and Master Policy.
- Coverage is secondary to any other applicable insurance.
- Covers medically necessary, usual, reasonable and customary charges only.
- Charges must be ordered/administered by a licensed physician.
- Claims must be filed with IMG within 90 days of the date incurred.
