IMG Visitors Protect insurance plan is designed specifically for individuals and families traveling from their home country to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This temporary medical insurance includes coverage for pre-existing conditions up to 99 years, so you can spend more time enjoying your international experience not worrying about your medical coverage. US citizens living abroad and visiting USA can also buy Visitors Protect travel medical insurance. This plan can be available from 90 days to 12 months.

On the effecive date, must have legally departed the country of residence and legally entered the primary destination of the united states on an eligible nonimmigrant visa or similar arrangements. Green card holders and lawful permanent residents are not eligible for this coverage.

What is the Cancellation for Visitors Protect insurance plan?

  • $50 cancellation fee will be charged by the insurance company after effective date. Only full month premium will be considered for refund.

The cost of Visitors Protect cost per month ranges between $449 to $2947 This is dependent on a few factors namely the age of the traveler, the plan maximum and the deductible.

The higher the plan limit, the higher will be the premium, while the higher the deductible the lower will be the premium. Travelers can choose maximum limits of $50,000, $100,000, $250,000 depending on the age of traveller up to age of 70 years. For above 70 years $50,000 is available.

Thank you for contacting about your insurance needs! Remember that visitor plans are only for unexpected medical problems while a person is traveling outside their home country. They do not cover regular, required treatment or medications. The Visitors Protect plan from IMG will cover unexpected problems arising from pre-existing conditions with a higher deductible and with a lower maximum. They define pre-existing conditions as something that within the past 12 months before the start of the policy had a flare up, was treated, or required a change in medication (see full definition below). They cover problems with pre-existing conditions subject to a higher ($1500) deductible and a lower maximum ($25,000 for 69 and under, $20,000 for 70+). In network the plan is a 25/75 plan, meaning they pay 75% and the insured pays 25% (as well as Canada and Mexico). Out of network it is 60/40 plan. Coverage is for US, Canada and Mexico. The plan must be initially purchased for at least 90 days and can be extended up to 12 months. The plan is not available to green card holders.
