Best travel insurance that includes covid19 coverage

Greetings to all our intrepid travelers! Here we have put together a little blog to advise people traveling during the COVID19 pandemic on what travel insurance are best and why. Currently we believe that the covid19 pandemic was behind us as different countries have reopened borders to normal activity.

The travel situation however keeps changing worldwide as we all deal with the on-going (seemingly endless) pandemic. Thanks to vaccination, most travel is has opened up and people are feeling a little more confident to take to the skies to visit distant lands.

Some countries waive insurance requirements for those who are fully vaccinated (note that the definition of "fully" vaccinated changes over time). Some in fact are making it mandatory to have COVID19 travel insurance coverage with Quarantine included. Some countries have threatened to close their doors to unvaccinated travelers.

Travel Insurance with covid coverage

So, travel during COVID is a bit more challenging than before, but not impossible. Luckily, here at American Visitor Insurance we have a range of products to fit most needs, particularly to meet country requirements for travel at very economical prices. Furthermore, a growing number of travelers from the US are wanting to be sure that some sort of "quarantine" coverage is on their policies.

At the current time, the US requires a negative COVID test to return to the US (that is, to get on the plane to return home). So, if you test positive, you will then be forced into quarantine or isolation for some days until you can test negative (hopefully, 5 days, but can be longer and may depend on your host country). Luckily, we have a plan now for US residents that includes this Covid Quarantine expenses coverage..

Covid Quarantine travel insurance for US residents

The Safe Travels Outbound is a travel medical insurance plan offered by Trawick International. It has options of $50,000 to $500,000 medical maximum with deductible options of $0 to $2,500. The base plan offers a $2000 benefit for trip delay which can be used in case of quarantine. You can upgrade this benefit to $4,000 ($300/day) or $7,000 ($500/day) to meet your needs.

It is paid at $250 per person (testing positive) per day up to a total of $3,000 (so up to about 13 days total). You can upgrade this benefit to $4,000 ($300/day) or $7,000 ($500/day) to meet your needs.

US residents wanting to have trip cancellation benefits, can choose from some trip cancellation plans that also offer this trip delay benefit (specifically the Safe Travels Voyager offers the same upgrades to the travel delay benefit outlined above). Safe Travels Explorer Insurance is the travel insurance plan which offers coverage for quarantine up to $1,000.

Covid Quarantine trip insurance for Non US residents

Non-US residents can purchase the Safe Travels International to get the $2000 trip delay benefit as well which can be used for travel outside the US. Currently, there are no plans we sell to cover quarantine costs while in the US.

So, check your passports and dust off your suitcases! Getting the insurance you need to go to the Caribbean, South America, Asia, or anywhere that seems to have complicated requirements is EASY here at American Visitor Insurance. What is visitors insurance for pre-existing conditions?

There are many health insurance for us visitors options for international travel. However, many usa travel insurance for visitors plans exclude pre-existing conditions. Hence the traveler insurance will not cover the costs of treating a pre-existing medical condition. However at American Visitor Insurance, we offer some travel medical insurance plans that have coverage for pre-existing conditions and the policy clearly states what is covered for a pre-existing conditions, as well as specifying a limit to this coverage.

Some travel health insurance plans like Atlas America, Patriot America Plus offer coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing conditions, ie, when there is a sudden medical emergency without any prior symptom that needs to be treated immediately. This typically includes emergency medical treatment, hospitalization and evacuation expenses related to the acute onset of the pre-existing condition. INF insurance however has the INF Elite insurance which covers pre-existing conditions going beyond the acute onset coverage. It is important to compare visitors insurance for pre-existing conditions on American Visitor Insurance both for the price as well as pre-existing conditions coverage before making a decision.

How does travel insurance for pre-existing conditions work?

The travel health insurance plans which cover pre-existing conditions have clear definitions of what is a pre-existing condition, the look back period for pre-existing condition, whether the travel insurance coverage is limited to acute onset of pre-existing conditions, and if it provides full coverage for pre-existing conditions the coverage limit within the policy for pre-existing conditons. Any travel health insurance coverage for pre-existing conditions will depend on all these.

Factors to consider while purchasing visitors health insurance for pre existing conditions?

The following are important factors for buying travel insurance for pre-existing conditions

  1. The definition of pre-existing conditions and the look back period under the policy.
  2. The eligibility age limit for pre-existing conditions coverage.
  3. Whether pre-existing condition coverage is limited to acute onset of pre-existing conditions.
  4. The coverage limit for pre-existing conditions which is different from the policy medical maximum.
  5. The deductible and out of pocket expenses for pre-existing conditions coverage.

Why is health insurance for travel to USA with pre-existing conditions coverage important?

Traveling anywhere outside worldwide is supposed to be an eye opening, special and a relaxed trip experience. Traveling with a health condition brings in more challenges in order to get covered for the unexpected medical expense in case of odd surprises during the trip. This calls out for an insurance plan that covers the pre-existing conditions that will relieve the unnecessary stress of taking extra care of yourself during your most memorable travel experience.

The plans also will be expensive considering the risks involved to cover pre-existing conditions. Many of the travel insurance plans exclude pre-existing conditions. At American Visitor Insurance we offer plans that cover acute onset of pre-existing conditions as well as some cover full pre-existing conditions.

Pre-existing conditions coverage - FAQ's

01. How do I know if my pre-existing condition is covered by travel insurance?

Unfortunately, this simple question has a fairly complicated answer. The answer is: it depends. Firstly, it depends on whether you are a US resident traveling outside the US or a visitor to the US. US residents can purchase trip cancellation insurance that can cover pre-existing conditions and even plans that are travel medical only without cancellation often are more generous in their coverage of pre-existing conditions. These plans may have specific requirements in order to waive the usual exclusion of coverage for pre-existing conditions (like purchase them within a certain number of days of your initial trip deposit or that you have a primary domestic insurance plan in the US), so you should check these details carefully if this is important to you.

Non-US residents or US residents traveling into the US have much more limited options to insure their pre-existing conditions are covered. Some plans offer coverage for "acute onset" of pre-existing conditions. However, this is misleading, since a careful look at their definition excludes chronic or congenital disorders from such coverage. Chronic illnesses are those that worsen over time and congenital disorders are issues one is born with. They exclude emergencies due to chronic illness because they will say that is not "acute" it is simply a worsening of your condition. There are only two policies we know of that offer coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. They are INF Premier and INF Elite plans.

Firstly, they define pre-existing conditions in the following way: A pre-existing condition is a condition for which the insured received treatment or took medication for in the previous 12 months before the start of the policy. If the medication dosage has not changed and is taken as a maintenance medication, this would NOT count as a flare up or treatment of the condition. In that case, very stable conditions that have no flare ups in the past 12 months are not even excluded as pre-existing conditions. Conditions that have had flare ups or doctor recommended treatment or change in medication, are still covered by the plans but with a higher deductible and a lower maximum.

INF Elite (also INF Elite 90) are comprehensive plans offering fairly complete coverage. INF Premier is a fixed plan. Find details on these plans here.

The above plans must be purchased for at least 90 days and can be quite pricey for seniors, but they offer the only real coverage for chronic conditions.

The other option, of course, is to take a plans with little ($1K) or no coverage for pre-existing conditions and take a risk that that condition will not flare up during the trip.

02. What does full coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions mean?

INF plans boast they offer "full" coverage for pre-existing conditions. This can be a little misleading. Firstly, any regular treatment or medication that is required by the condition is never covered. The main advantage to the INF Elite and INF Premier is that they cover sudden illness/injury regardless of whether it is pre-existing or not. The only difference is that a pre-existing condition will be covered with a higher deductible at at a lower maximum than any other "new" illness or injury. However, coverage is not limited to an emergency or life-threatening situation.

03. What does "acute onset of pre-existing conditions" mean?

The "Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition" is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing medical condition which occurs without any advance warning either in the form of physician recommendations or symptoms and requires immediate care (within 24 hours of first symptoms). A Pre-Existing Condition that is a chronic or congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time will not be considered acute onset.

The acute onset coverage benefit does not include coverage for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs or treatment existent or necessary prior to the effective date of coverage. An example of this might be someone who has a food allergy or bee allergy and is unknowingly exposed to their allergen and requires immediate medical attention.

04. What is the difference between Full Pre-Existing & Acute Onset Insurance?

Acute onset of a pre-existing condition can be defined as the sudden & unexpected occurrence of a pre-existing condition which requires in-patient, emergency hospitalization within 24 hours of exhibiting first symptoms. The main difference between acute onset & full pre-existing is that with Full Pre-Existing coverage, is that one is covered for all pre-existing conditions and associated medical costs and this includes follow up visits, hospitalizations and doctor’s visits, etc. The acute onset coverage will only cover the in-patient hospitalization expense.

05. What are the limits of Full Pre-Existing plans under INF travel insurance?

Full Pre-existing means we will cover any issue regarding a pre-existing condition, however, if one is traveling to the United States solely for medical treatment, that will not be covered. INF plans do not cover any medical tourism related claims. Pre-existing conditions under the INF plans are covered with a higher deductible and a lower maximum than other illnesses or injuries. These are chosen or specified when you purchase you plan.

06. Do INF travel insurance plans really cover all pre-existing conditions?

Yes, the INF policies will cover any pre-existing issue that the traveler may have during their stay in the United States. This includes blood pressure, diabetes, kidney related issues and arthritis, all of which are covered by the INF Premier, INF Premier Plus, INF Elite, INF Elite Plus and INF Elite 90 Plans.

07. Why are Full Pre-Existing plans more expensive than other visitor medical insurance usa plans?

The insurance company takes on an enormous risk by insuring individuals and including coverage for pre-existing conditions without any prior medical examination. Under the INF plans, you are paying more, but you are getting the full value for the money you pay given the very high cost of US healthcare. With the INF Premier, INF Premier Plus, INF Elite, INF Elite Plus and INF Elite 90 Plans, even though it is expensive, you can have the comfort of knowing that you are covered for any emergency or contingency. This peace of mind given the expensive US healthcare expense is what makes INF plans worth it despite being expensive.

08. What services are covered under best travel insurance for usa visitors with full pre-existing coverage?

The list of covered services under Visitors insurance full pre-existing conditions coverage can be found on the American Visitor Insurance website of the INF Premier, INF Premier Plus, INF Elite, INF Elite Plus and INF Elite 90 Plan pages. INF plans are open to green card holders

Covid pandemic in 2024:

As of the summer of 2024, at the recent meeting of international health regulations held at WHO, members highlighted the decreasing trends in Covid-19 related deaths, covid-19-related hospitalizations, intensive care unit admissions, and high levels of population immunity to Sars Covid. The committee has acknowledged that it is time to transition to the long-term management of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Director General at WHO determines that Covid-19 is now an established and annoying health issue that no longer constitutes a public health emergency of international concern(PHEIC).

Covid19 travel restrictions in 2024:

* Factors that determine the cost of US travel insurance plans

Age of the traveler

The cost of travel insurance is directly proportional to the age of the traveler. The older the traveler and greater will be the cost of the visitors health insurance.

Type of travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance provides exhaustive coverage but is more expensive than fixed benefit insurance which has a specified limit for each treatment.

Medical maximum coverage and deductible options

The price of visitors insurance is directly dependent on the maximum medical coverage and inversely proportional to the deductible of the plan chosen.

Region of coverage

Travel insurance depends on the coverage region. The cost for visitor insurance for the United States is most expensive when compared to Europe or Asia.

Duration of travel insurance

The cost of travel insurance directly depends on the length of travel. The longer the duration of visitor medical insurance required, the higher will be the cost.

Any add on benefits

Additional add-on benefits to the basic travel insurance plan like adventure sports coverage, coverage for pre-existing conditions… will add to the overall cost.

Faq's about INF international travel insurance coverage for covid19

Now that the CDC announced that the world is at a level 3 travel advisory, Do you have travel insurance during COVID19?
Ans. There is no change in the coverage. INF Insurance offers travel medical insurance that offers COVID19

Will these policies be voided given that travelers are basically stuck wherever they are and there is no place "better" to travel to?
Ans. If they are currently enrolled, the policy will not be voided. If they are enrolling after the arrival date (most common situation now) they may go through special underwriting.

Will policies already purchased before March 27th where travelers where NOT in level 3 areas already have "normal" coverage for all illnesses except COVID19 or will COVID19 be covered for them?
Ans. INF plans cover COVID19 like a new sickness, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. This is not a guarantee of benefits, however, as each claim is evaluated individually.

Will you be issuing new policies since the CDC announcement?
Ans. Currently, we will continue to support our customers and allow new enrollments in INF Standard and INF Traveler USA and others case by case.

Many people are currently stuck in countries with their other policies running out and non-renewable. Can they purchase the your policies?
Ans. Yes, they can enroll in the INF covid19 travel insurance policies.

Will you continue to allow pre-existing condition coverage during the month of April for the "marooned" travelers?
Ans. As of now, the pre-existing coverage will remain intact. For new enrollments, they may undergo special underwriting.

Ans. INF plans cover COVID19 like a new sickness, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. This is not a guarantee of benefits, however, as each claim is evaluated individually.

What happens if I catch COVID19 on the flight to the USA?
Ans. INF travel insurance that covers covid19 will treat it as a new sickness, even if you are infected on the airplane.

But what about contact tracing? Won't the insurance company deny the claim knowing I was in contact with someone infected?
Ans. We cannot prove that you were infected with COVID19 by simply being in contact with someone who had / has it. This has no effect on the covid19 travel insurance. We will cover COVID19 like any other new sickness

What happens if I am asymptomatic (i.e. testing done before the trip shows positive) and still decide to travel?
Ans. Being tested is a service, if we determine a related service was done 12 months prior to the effective date, the condition would be considered Pre-Existing.

What if I catch COVID19 in the airport on the way to the US?

Will INF travel insurance cover covid19 even though it's declared a pandemic & there are travel advisories out by my government about non-essential travel?
Ans. Yes, INF will cover COVID19 like any other sickness. We do not have a pandemic or travel advisory exclusion clause in our policy

If I am already sick with COVID19, will INF travel health insurance covid19 cover my medical expenses?
Ans. No, INF will not pay out any benefits if you are already showing symptoms of COVID19 before you enroll in the policy.

Are antibody tests & COVID19 tests covered by INF?
Ans. Antibody test prescriptions can be obtained via INF's telemedicine program for $0 (free). COVID19 tests and prescriptions are covered. In both cases, you must be showing symptoms and tests should be prescribed by a physician (medically necessary) to be covered.

Additionally, we do not cover anyone who is already sick or showing symptoms, or plans to see a physician in the immediate future. As you know, the situation is developing day by day and is constantly changing. If the Travellers are interested in enrolling, we advise them to enroll right away.

Disclaimer: INF travel insurance will cover COVID19 like any other new sickness, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. There is no special coverage or exclusions with regard to COVID19. However, these statements on coverage do not constitute a guarantee of payment, as each claim is evaluated on its individual merits, and requires a review of the patient's medical records and services provided.

COVID19 Travel insurance Coverage: How does it work?

The most common question we are dealing with right now in travel insurance is, of course, having to do with coverage for COVID19. There are still policies that will cover COVID19 (or illness from the covid19) as any other illness. We are quick to point out that the policy will not cover you if you are already sick or carrying the virus. So, the tricky question becomes: How will the insurance company know you have a new illness or already had it?

Generally, the accepted incubation period for the virus has been established at 14 days. This is not always the case, but many countries have adopted a standard two week quarantine period for their visitors and it seems likely you will show symptoms within this time frame should you have it. Further evidence shows that you are most contagious during the early part of your infection, so this period would allow that most contagious time to be over.

So, what we are really concerned about is: What if I get sick with COVID19 during the first 14 days of my trip? What will the insurance company do? This is a valid question for both parties concerned. The answer is: we don’t know. It will depend on many factors. If the place you are going does good contact tracing, perhaps you will be notified that some place where you were, there was a confirmed case and you should quarantine for that reason. If you get sick after that, you will have some evidence of where you picked up the infection.

What if the area you are going to is NOT doing good contact tracing? In that case, I have this advice I've been giving our many concerned customers:
BEFORE you travel (for at least two weeks prior), keep a log of where you go and what you do. Every day should have a note, even if it is: Stayed home, walked dog in neighbourhood, etc. If you do something, note if you wore a mask and were able to socially distance, like: Grocery shopping with mask 45 min at Jerry’s. Also, record the number of active COVID19 cases in your town or area as the data are reported.

This way, you will have a written record of how unlikely it is you had COVID19 before your trip. If you can show, the most "risky" place you were was the airport and/or the plane, then that infection SHOULD be covered since you caught it during the active part of your policy (which is why we always recommend you start your policy from the day you leave your home country until the day you return).

It would not be amiss to continue to log your exposure risk during your trip. Of course, purposefully exposing yourself to a virus may void your coverage as well (showing intent may be difficult, but it seems some young people enjoy sharing their exploits on social media). That is in the same way that purposefully hurting yourself is often excluded by an insurance policy for coverage.

Some clients that I have been interacting with have very clear and careful plans for visiting loved ones.

They find a place to safely quarantine away from everyone for two weeks and then go to visit them after that time. Some people can get tested for COVID19 before their trip. While this is not required, this would be some great evidence should you get sick later, that you didn’t have it before travel. So, it is possible to visit and share time together in the time of COVID, we just have to be reasonable in our expectations and careful to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.

International travel and the impact of covid19 for worldwide travelers

The world has looked on in dismay and shock as COVID19 (officially SARS-CoV-2) that began in China has swept all over the world. This outbreak has disrupted international travel very significantly and highlighted just how connected a world we now live in. What started in Wuhan, in China, and spread soon after to South Korea, Iran and Italy has now spread across the globe and has completely locked down international and even domestic travel. In the US the virus has spread to every state and sadly the most global of US cities, New York has been devastated.

The US now has the highest number of covid19 victims. Airports and airlines across the world are implementing screening measures for the disease to protect passengers and destinations. Perhaps now, more than ever, the need and usefulness of the best covid19 visitors insurance is highlighted. We hope to give some information for people who are stranded and how to buy visitors insurance for covid19 to protect yourself medically and monetarily from this changing situation.

covid19 or COVID19 : Background of the Virus and Disease it Causes

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is one of a family of viruses known as Covid-19, so named for the crown-like structures around their enveloping membrane. This family of viruses includes our common cold, seasonal flu viruses, SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). The name stands for Sever Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) which describes the disease it causes. CoV for covid19 family. It gets the 2 because it is closely related to the original SARS outbreak which happened in China in 2002.

Sometimes you will see it called nCoV which stands for novel covid19. It is novel because it has never been in humans before and so no one will have immunity to it. The SARS-CoV-2 virus is zoonotic in origin (that is, it originally crossed species from, we think, bats to humans, so it has an animal origin), but is now passed person to person. The SARS-CoV-2 virus causes the disease called COVID19. COVID stands for covid19 Disease and 19 because the outbreak began in 2019.

Covid19 pandemic and the impact on international travel insurance COVID19

While the disease began in China, it has quickly spread to all parts of the world. Current hotspots include Iran and Turkey in the Middle East, in Europe is Italy, Spain, France, the UK, Germany and Russia. Within Asia is South Korea and Singapore. All of these countries have however been outnumbered by the number of victims within the United States. While new cases are slowing in China due to the extraordinary measures they are taking to isolate sick individuals and prevent spread and of the disease, the cases outside of China are increasing markedly.

Many of these highly affected areas are trying to contain and delay the spread of the disease. Many countries have taken more extreme measures by shutting down schools and requesting people work from home. While these are areas with the most cases we currently know of, individuals diagnosed with the new virus are popping up around the globe on a daily basis.

How does covid19 spread and how can I protect myself?

Experts are not completely sure how the virus is spreading. Clearly the virus is spreading person to person and they think the virus can live on surfaces for some period of time. It is likely the virus can spread through coughing and sneezing and live for some time on a person’s skin (if they touch their nose or nasal discharge). Medical professionals are suggesting we maintain social distance between each other to prevent person to person spread by touch (stay at least 1 meter apart) and not to shake hands, hug, or kiss in greeting each other.

We must avoid touching our eyes, nose or mouth, particularly while out in our communities and wash our hands before eating and when getting back home. An alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can be used if you can’t access soap and water for hand washing. Avoid contact with people who are sick and if you are sick yourself, stay home and self isolate. If you think you do have this disease stay indoors, contact an appropriate medical facility by phone to get directions on what to do. It may not be a good idea to rush to a hospital or clinic if it is not necessary and in doing so expose yourself or others to infection.

Should I travel during the covid19 outbreak?

There are some places that one should not travel to if one can avoid it. US citizens have travel restrictions given by the US Department of State. A level 4 warning tells us not to travel to that destination. Of course, we are free to ignore these advisories, but it is reasonable to consider their information. As of writing this blog, China, Iran and South Korea are on level 4 warnings, or "Do Not Travel" warnings. Italy and is at level 3 which is "Reconsider Travel". Japan and Hong Kong are listed as level 2 which is "Exercise Increased Caution". The CDC maintains similar lists with its recommendations. The highest of which is usually level 3 and is "Avoid Nonessential Travel".

Individuals in high risk groups should probably avoid travel into countries and communities with community spread of this virus. The data informs us that older individuals (over age 60) and particularly those with co-morbidities (like heart failure and COPD) will be likely be more negatively affected by this disease (that is, get a more sever form) and are more likely to die of the disease. We only know this from information that has come out of the outbreak in China and it is important to remember that there is much that remains unknown about this virus and the disease it causes.

Can I buy covid19 travel insurance to cover me in case I get sick with the covid19 or COVID19?

This is a very good question. The answer is, “It depends”. It depends upon where you wish to travel. Here at American Visitor Insurance, we are happy to provide top options for Covid travel health insurance for travelers available in the US market. However, since all our companies are US-based companies, many of them use the US Department of State or Center for Disease Control (CDC) warnings when determining coverage. For the US Department of State, the level of warning is at 4 or “Do Not Travel”, then policies we offer generally will NOT cover you and some even for things completely unrelated to the covid19. Barring the level 4 warning, however, you can get coverage and that coverage will include coverage for covid19 illness.

If, for example, you purchase a policy for your trip to Italy which is currently at level 3, but while you are traveling, that level is changed to 4, you are generally STILL covered since you did not travel against advice of the warning. Moreover, you would generally be covered for covid19 illness should that occur. The same is true for CDC warnings. For CDC, the level 3 warning may exclude coverage from many companies. However, there are some differences between companies, so for specifics, please see some specific guidelines from our providers below.

Of particular note, trip cancellation policies available to US citizens and residents allow for trip cancellation due to your own illness or quarantine as part of their normal cancellation policy. You can also purchase many plans with a "Cancel for Any Reason" (CFAR) option (it is included in some) which will return 75% of your travel investment should you simply decide that you don’t wish to risk the trip or some other situation occurs outside your control that, does not allow normal cancellation of your trip, but still keeps you from taking your trip (for example, your best friend, who is not traveling with you, is sick and you want to stay home and help her).

There are four plans that we offer with CFAR coverage: Travel LX insurance and Trip Protection Choice Insurance. The first one is offered by IMG and to get the CFAR coverage they must be purchased within 20 days of the initial trip deposit. The last two offer CFAR coverage as a rider which increases their cost. Note that not all plans are available in all states.

Travel Insurance Select Trip cancellation insurance for Covid19

The Travel Insurance Select plan does not have a specific Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption peril tied to a CDC Warning. Therefore, the main eligible coverages would be:

  • A person traveling in an affected country who becomes ill, in which case emergency medical expense or emergency medical evacuation coverage may apply, or
  • Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) – this option must be purchased as an upgrade within 21 days of your initial trip deposit/payment. Other conditions apply – see plan details.
Crum & Forster considered this to be a foreseen event on 01/23/2020.

Vacationers can shield themselves best by purchasing the Cancel for any reason travel insurance benefit. This gives the flexibility of cancellation the cruise vacation for any reason, and the traveler can get reimbursed up to 75% of the non-refundable trip expenses.

The cruise insurance protection offered by cruise lines provides very little benefits given their cost, this is particularly important for Seniors cruise vacationers who are most vulnerable and likely to need the benefits offered by the best cruise travel insurance plans. Get Quotes »

Covid trip cancellation insurance – Cancel for any reason travel insurance

Most travelers often plan a trip or vacation well ahead of time. A planned trip involves expensive airline tickets, hotel reservations and cruise bookings. Due to the COVID19 outbreak, CDC, WHO or other government agency have issued travel alert to not visit a few countries. This is a serious condition that may force a traveler to cancel travel plans made in advance. The Trip Cancellation insurance with the "Cancel for any reason" benefit comes to your rescue.

The travelers can cancel their expensive ticket bookings, hotel reservations and other expenses using this benefit. Trip cancellation insurance will help to receive majority of the trip investment expenses spent on a vacation. Most of trip cancellation insurance plans also cover emergency medical expenses and accidental injuries. Therefore it is advisable to buy the Trip Cancellation insurance with "cancel for any reason" while planning a trip or a vacation. Travel insurance coverage for covid test

Covid Insurance Coverage for PCR test
questionHi,
I recently purchased insurance due to travel oversea. I had to pay for a PCR test while oversea and I was wondering if I can summit the receipt to possible get reinvestment. Can you please tell me where to send my receipt? Thank you.
Maria

questionDear Maria,
Unfortunately, plans which cover COVID19 only cover "medically necessary" expenses. Even though that test was required by the US gov't to come back to the US, it is not medically necessary and so will be excluded from coverage by the insurance policy. This would also be true for tests required to go into another country (and before travel).
Sorry for any confusion on the coverage of the plan.

Sincerely,
Customer care
